The social dynamics of the workplace have changed, meaning that people interact differently in virtual and hybrid environments. Without those informal, face-to-face conversations, it has become much more difficult to get to know people outside of their professional roles. Since there is limited contact, it is also difficult to observe how they interact with their colleagues. In addition to the challenges of managing remote teams, supervisors must also find new ways to identify leadership potential from the general pool of talent.
